On Monday, November 18th, 2013 the Economic Growth Connection of Westmoreland held its annual dinner at the Ramada Inn Greensburg, (former Four Point Sheraton). EGC honored Dr. JoAnne Boyle, former President of Seton Hill University.

Michele Ridge, Chair of Seton Hill University Board of Trustees and former First Lady of Pennsylvania, will be our keynote speaker.

Lesleh Precision, Inc. obtains financing through the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority

The Economic Growth Connection of Westmoreland (EGCW) announced that it has successfully assisted Lesleh Precision Incorporated (LPI), in obtaining financing through the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA) for the purchase of a 31,300 square foot building in the Rostraver Air Park, Rostraver Township. LPI began operations in 1999, in Washington County.

Westmoreland leaders form workforce forum to help young people qualify for careers

An educated workforce qualified and willing to take available jobs in the region will be one key to moving Westmoreland County's economy forward, officials said Wednesday.

James Smith, president of the Economic Growth Connection of Westmoreland, told more than 220 business and community leaders at the organization's annual membership meeting at St. Vincent College in Unity that finding companies that want to hire people is easy, but finding qualified people to take those jobs is the hard part.
